Overview
Our client, a global leader in healthcare, is integrating a new data information product across their organisation of 100,000+ employees. They currently face a significant challenge: their existing system for ingesting, managing and analyzing data was outdated and under utilized.
Despite vast data resources, teams could only tap into a fraction of its potential, leading to inefficiencies and missed opportunities. The lack of a cohesive, streamlined data ecosystem made it difficult to extract actionable insights.
This inefficiency wasn’t just an operational bottleneck—it was stifling innovation and agility.
Our client engaged Source Studio to create a strategic video asset that introduces their new data ecosystem. This presented an interesting challenge as the platform is not built and ready to demo yet, this meant we only had mockups of the User Interface and Functionality to work with.
Our Approach:
First of all, we had in-depth conversations around the strategy of the project and really explored the motivations behind creating the video.
We ask questions such as:
Who is the audience?
What are their frustrations, fears, wants and aspirations?
What does success look like for them?
We then ask a few more questions, diving deep into the Context, Emotion and Relevance that this video will have (these are the foundational blocks of our Contextual Messaging Framework).
The Contextual Messaging Framework allows us to put a structure on the story we’re telling and it’s relevance to the audience.
I’ve been developing it for 8 years and it ensures that every stakeholder has a clear idea of the approach that we’re taking.
Once we have completed our Contextual Messaging Framework, it’s time to start getting really creative!

So, here’s a look at how we do it…
Crafting the Narrative:
We developed a compelling story that identified the problems, then moved the viewers towards the solutions by painting a picture of the future. We focused on showing how the new ecosystem would empower employees, rather than overwhelming them with technical details.

We then move towards storyboarding. Using creative, relatable visuals, we showcased the ease and impact of the new system.
We focus on visualising the outcome in a way that resonates and gets the bigger picture across - turning an intangible concept into something employees could see and understand.
